Your display or projection system, whether in your living room or in a dedicated home theatre, is the last link in a chain that began on a movie set or in a TV production studio. Directors and cinematographers spend millions of dollars getting the "look" just right for their movies (or other content). In order to experience a program as those who produced it intended, your display system must be calibrated to the same standards!
If you have walked into a TV showroom, you likely noticed that each display has a slightly different looking picture. In theory, if each was calibrated like a broadcast studio monitor using SMPTE procedures, they would look nearly identical. More importantly, each display would be accurately reproducing the video scenes.
Video display manufacturers are aware that displays sell better when the brightness is turned up, picture transitions emphasized and gray scale is shifted blue. Contrast and black levels will be incorrect for the viewing environment resulting in poor viewing contrast and shadow detail. Factory settings have nothing to do with industry standards or reproducing the best picture in your home.
Your display system can only look its best calibrated in its viewing environment.
Using sophisticated test and measurement equipment, our experienced ISF professional calibrator will make your display system perform its best.
